At Ocotillo Dance Center, we do things a little differently…
In 2009, we opened our doors as “Studios of Ocotillo.” Two years later we have a new name, but the same philosophy. Ocotillo Dance Center was created with the family in mind. It’s a place where students come to learn the ART and the JOY of dance. It gives students a chance to learn in an environment that fosters great technique and passion that you won’t find anywhere else.
So, what makes ODC so different?
- Ocotillo Dance Center Offers a One-of-a-Kind Staff: Our staff members are a unique blend of dancers and instructors that you will not find ANYWHERE ELSE in the Valley. They include Owner/Artistic Director Allison Warren, and instructors Victoria Kieffer, Lorry Gyrafas, and Alanna Powers. We strive to ensure that our students receive quality instruction from strong and innovative instructors that you can’t find at any other studio.
- Being a Well-rounded dancer matters: Many studios choose to focus on just one or two styles of dance, but at Ocotillo Dance Center we do our best to include every style that we can possibly fit into the schedule. Dancers can choose from Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Tumbling, Preschool Combination Classes and MUCH MUCH MORE! We offer fitness bootcamps for Adults in the mornings as well!
- Every Student Is Given a Chance to Succeed: We don’t believe in the mentality that certain students should receive better training than others, just because they choose to participate in competitive or performance teams. At ODC, it is guaranteed that your student will receive quality instruction, regardless of whether they dance one hour a week, or 10! We believe in the potential of every student that walks into our classroom, and make it a point to develop and present it.
- Kids are allowed to be kids: We foster the idea that our students are dancers, not beauty queens. Therefore, we maintain a dresscode that is age appropriate, both for classes and performances. Students are given age appropriate choreography to family-friendly and age appropriate music.
- Unique Performance Opportunities for EVERYONE!: At Ocotillo Dance Center, ALL of our students are encouraged to participate in community and national performances. While we do offer competitive and performance opportunities to those interested, we also believe that in order to receive a well-rounded dance education, students should be given the opportunity to perform in more than just the End-of-Season recital. Our dancers are encouraged to participate in community performances such as the Ostrich Festival Parade, The Chandler Parade of Lights and much more. This year, we are even offering a chance to perform in the Magic Kingdom- yes, that’s right, Disneyland!
- Personal Instruction: We guarantee that each student will receive personal correction and motivation in EVERY class they attend, regardless of whether there are three students in the class, or 18!
- Affordable Costumes and Hassle Free Recitals: We understand that the state of the current economy makes it difficult to be involved in activities like dance, and because of that we do our best to keep our prices as low as possible. Our costumes are set at affordable prices and will often be something that each dancer can use again in the following year. We also know how time consuming and over the top some recital celebrations can be. Our affordable recital fee includes 2 free tickets to the show, a recital t-shirt and a special surprise for your dancer. Our show will also prove to be one of the most entertaining in the Valley, as it is put on like a continuous Broadway productions, instead of a marathon of dances. It will definitely leave you wanting more!
